About

Leandra has been teaching flute privately in her own studio for over 25 years.
She teaches all ages and levels, from just beginning to college and adults.
Teaching has been a huge part of her passion for playing flute. It gives her a chance to share her enthusiasm and years of experience with other people who are passionate about flute as well and pay it forward by helping other budding flutists. She started teaching online flute lessons on the Zoom platform in March of 2020 to make sure her current students and future students could still fulfill their flute playing goals without interruption.

Besides a busy private studio, Lea is a professional freelance flutist in the Boston and surrounding areas.  She holds a BA with a concentration in flute performance from Bridgewater State University.  In addition to a busy performing schedule with Two of Us Flute and Guitar Duo , she is the founding member of the nationally recognized Sonare Wind Trio, Semifinalists for the Fischoff Chamber Competition.  The Fischoff is the biggest chamber music festival in the country.  Lea Assistant Conducted and was the Chamber Ensemble Director for The South Shore Conservatory Flute Symphony for over 20 years, which is one of the largest flute symphonies in the US. She also has numerous studio recordings under her belt, and collaborates with composer Erik Lindgren, founder of Birdsongs of The Mesozoic.  When she is not performing or teaching, she is the Director of woodwinds and Program Development Director at Encore Music Academy.

Leandra’s degree is in flute performance , but she is also an accomplished musician and teacher on other wind instruments including: clarinet, saxophone and oboe as well.
